Ashley and Carla's Wedding at Cazenovia's Lincklaen House

One of our favorite venues to DJ weddings at is The Lincklaen House in Cazenovia, and Ashley and Carla’s wedding was one of our favorites. They are a great couple and we were thrilled to be celebrating with them on January 14th!

Cocktails and Hors d'oeuvres

The evening began with nearly 100 guests arriving and enjoying cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the checkered lobby area. We provided light background music consisting of Fleetwood Mac and other classic and light rock artists, and oldies while Photographer James Peluso took family formals.

Introductions

This wedding was a little different than a typical wedding folks are accustomed to because Ashley and Carla were actually already married before their celebration date arrived. For introductions, we played one of Ashley's favorite songs, "Gypsy" by Fleetwood Mac, as we welcomed both Ashley, Carla, and their families down the staircase. We then turned the microphone over to Ashley and Carla as they thanked their friends and family and talked a little bit about their story of how they came to today's celebration. As soon as they got their guests in a big round of applause, we moved everyone into the Hunt Room for dinner and toasts. Once toasts were completed, we returned to a similar style of music that we played for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. We provided wireless sound in the Hunt Room for dining music and toasts.

Cake Cutting and First Dance

For cake cutting, Ashley and Carla chose the song "Shoulder To Shoulder" by Carly Simon (a song they heard while watching Winnie The Pooh with their son). Once the cake was cut, Ashley and Carla shared their first dance. The song "A Thousand Years" was performed live with Ashley's Dad playing piano and Dan Blumenthal from Paduano Studios providing the cello solo.

We then opened the dancing with the anniversary dance and played "Have I Told You Lately" by Van Morrison. We learned that Carla's parents were our winners and have been married for over 37 years! Once we crowned them the winners, we started the party!

Dancing was a mix of rock, top 40, and 80s and 90s throwbacks. At the end of the night, we sent Ashley, Carla, and their families and friends off with "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis Presley (a nice way to end on a mellower yet effective note).
We had an absolute blast! Thank you Ashley and Carla, and congratulations!
